2011 Leftovers 7: 'Lolita Growing Up' shoot styled by Isabella Sumner
Here is a lovely image from a shoot entitled 'Lolita Growing Up', styled by a young talented friend stylist Isabella Sumner - member of the Secret Danger Sister blog - and photographed by Christine Kreiselmaier. I love the way Isabella has styled here this delicate Plastic Seconds pendant made out of the end bit from a large pen (red part) and a black soft plastic bit from some medical equipment packaging my father passed on to me. There is a little something of Lana Del Rey both in the shoot and in the looks of the model...which is a great thing of course!
2011 Leftovers 6: Ella Dror Pr Press day
Shortly after London Fashion Week I received an invitation from the really cool Ella Dror Pr to attend their Press Day on the 31st of October at the Swarovski Lounge on Great Marlborough Street. Of course I could not miss it as Ella Dror Pr represents in general great young designers, but especially two of my all-time favorites Fred Butler - I will be doing a post on her shortly! - and Piers Atkinson!!! Below is an edit of my favorite bits on show.

2011 Leftovers 5: Plastic Seconds during Gabby Young's and Other Animals gig at Koko
Thanks to the lovely Katie Antoniou - Gabby Young's stylist - Plastic Seconds joined Gabby Young and Other Animals at their Koko gig on the 13th of October! Gabby Young and Katie Antoniou co curate 'Gabberdashery', under which various designers sell their wares during Gabby Young's gigs. It was the most pleasant and fun stall shift I have ever done of course and seeing the band live was amazing! Blogger Michael from Anastasia and Duck stopped by and blogged about his favorite Plastic Seconds pieces - like the light bulb pendant - in his post round up of the night!
Here the lovely girl from Now Voyager - who make these amazing cupcake hairclips! - having some face painting done by Raingold Faces. |
I indulged in some face painting too! :-) |

2011 Leftovers 4: Antiform Autumn/Winter collection styled by Lucy Harvey for Futurefrock
Towards the end of last summer I was really thrilled to lend some Plastic Seconds pieces to the amazing stylist Lucy Harvey for a shoot of the Antiform Autumn/Winter collection for Futurefrock Magazine - see the article here. Here are some behing the scenes shots of her playing around with my plastic lids headpiece and my three necklaces! I love the yellow make up and I love the contrast between the black and white stripes and the colourful Plastic Seconds pieces. I was also really happy that because of this shoot I became aware of Antiform and their beautiful, funky and sustainable clothes, as well as their sister Remade in Leeds boutique.
2011 Leftovers 3: London Fashion Week S/S 2012 Luetton Postle
The first show I attended as an Amelia's Magazine contributor was Leutton Postle at Vauxhall Fashion Scout - you can read my review of the show in Amelia's Magazine here - and oh I loooved these two ladies and their creations so much! The duration of it all felt like a tiny second and I found it really thrilling to shoot in continuous mode... Indeed I discovered the challenges of catwalk photography - it really is quite tricky to capture these fast paced belles! I was really proud this was my first go at catwalk photography...
When I went to the Fashion Scout exhibition to check out the pieces up close I realised they had incorporated cocktail sticks in the weave of a dress! |
These were two lovely dressed Leutton Postle interns! |
2011 Leftovers 2: Some good moments from London Fashion Week S/S 2012
It was really good fun and an honor to go in September to London Fashion Week as an Amelia's Magazine contributor and write some reviews for the magazine. Here is some of my favorite moments when going around...Cannot wait for February! You can have a look at some London Fashion Week illustrations I also did for Amelia's Magazine in my my other Slowly The Eggs blog.
I really liked these platform shoes by Helen Bullock at Vauxhall Fashion Scout |
And some bold dresses also by Helen Bullock |
I loved this girl's style! - she said she has made the shoulder piece herself |
This dress by Shao Yen was made entirely from golden elastic |
A David Longshaw top with his own illustration - I spoke to him and he was such a friendly lovely guy! |
Dr Noki genius! |
Another really sweet and friendly designer I met was Elizabeth Lau, Susie Bubble's sister - here you can see her Millie's Cookie, a few designers had made a cookie for charity. |
Here is the amazing Kirsty Ward showing me one of her rings..... |
Lu from Lu Flux!!!! what a sweet, talented lady and she does the dots under the eyes make up like me too! |
A Tatty Devine girl with a cool necklace! |
A boy with a big old necklace at one of the shows - wish more boys wore jewellery! |
An interesting girl at one of the queues - it was a veeery slow queue.... |
I took this photo of all the photographers because I found it fascinating how they became an explosion of flashing lights and loud sound when the show started! |
Dismantled mannequin at the end of Ecoluxe London :-) |
